iPartment - New Project!

ipart

Today DoReMii & Heaven and Earth bring you subtitles for iPartment episodes 01-02!

iPartment is a hilarious mainland sitcom comedy about a group of 20-somethings who all live in the Love Apartment. Much like the american sitcom Friends... Only whackier and more full of insane escapades.

I have to say that this show has probably got one of my favourite all time opening scenes any in any drama.

You all may recognise at least one face in this show and that would be Wang Chuan Jun of The Prince of Tennis fame (Qian Zhen Zhi).

Either before you watch the episodes or after you have; it might be a good idea to check our notes page for iPartment. We give more in depth information about references and about the languages spoken.

Hold onto your hats and enjoy the insane fun ride that is iPartment!

iPartment Notes

ipart

This show has alot of cultural references, jokes, idioms etc and not all of them we've been able to add to the hardsubbed videos as there is just too much information for some of them. We'll list all the notes whether they are in the hardsubs or not.

Languages and Font Colours
iPartment is spoken in mandarin chinese like pretty much all mainland dramas, however random english is spoken (badly or well, full sentences) and some japanese as there is a japanese character.

Normal spoken text is purple with overlapping spoken text being blue. Spoken English is a dark gold colour, anything that's on the radio, tv or phone is dark green and japanese text is still purple but with the english translation beneath like this:

Official Website
Four guys, three girls, one apartment. iPartment is a hour long sitcom and China's answer to Friends. Fast talking, packed with jokes, and brimming with historical and pop-culture references, iPartment chronicles the sometimes funny, sometimes bizarre, sometimes romantic, and sometimes touching antics and adventures of the Love Apartment residents.

Shanghai is a big city, but they lived in the same building, in two different apartments. He went left, she went right. They never met. Until a coincidental chance allowed them to get to know each other and eventually walk down the red carpet of happiness to wedded bliss.

Touched by their love story, the building owner gives
Tie Zhu and Er Niu two presents on their wedding day. This first is to rename the building to "Love Apartment" in their honor. The second is to give all couples in love living in the apartment free water and electricity and 50% off rent. Wedding crashers Lu Zi Qiao and Chen Mei Jia nearly die from delight at this announcement. Despite the fact that they know and hate each other, Zi Qiao and Mie Jia can't resist what is on a silver platter in front of them. Making a huge scene, they profess their love for each other and move into Love Apartment. But keeping the con going proves harder than they anticipated with the rest of the nosy and crazy residents of Love Apartment.
